Introduction

The Bund is Shanghai's iconic waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River. Stretching 1.5 km, it features 52 historic buildings in Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classical, and Renaissance styles — a legacy of Shanghai's colonial-era International Settlement. Across the river rises the futuristic Lujiazui skyline with the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, and Jin Mao Tower. The Bund is most magical at night when both sides of the river are illuminated.
