Introduction

Basum Lake (Basum Tso) is located in Gongbo'gyamda County, Nyingchi, at an elevation of 3,700 m. It is a sacred lake in Tibetan Buddhism and one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in Tibet. The lake features crystal-clear emerald waters surrounded by pristine forests and snow-capped peaks. The Tashi Island in the lake houses a 1,500-year-old Tsodzong Monastery. The lake is ideal for hiking, photography, and experiencing Tibetan village life.
