Introduction

Saint Sophia Cathedral is located in Harbin and is the largest Eastern Orthodox church in the Far East. Built in 1907 by Russian expatriates, the 53.35 m tall Byzantine-style cathedral features a distinctive green onion dome and red brick exterior. It is no longer an active church but houses the Harbin Architecture Art Museum, showcasing the city's Russian-influenced architectural heritage. The cathedral is the most iconic symbol of Harbin.
