Badaguan Scenic Area

The Badaguan Scenic Area, located on the eastern side of Huishan Bay, is one of China's renowned resort districts, spanning over 70 hectares. It is crisscrossed by ten tranquil and shady avenues and is a prime example of Qingdao's signature "red roofs, green trees, blue sea, and clear sky" landscape. The name "Badaguan" (which translates to "Eight Great Passes") originally referred to the eight roads in the area, each named after a pass along the Great Wall: Shaoguan Road, Jiayuguan Road, Hangu Pass Road, Zhengyangguan Road, Linhuai Pass Road, Ningwu Pass Road, Zijing Pass Road, and Juyong Pass Road. Although there are now ten roads, the area retains its historic name. These roads interweave to form a scenic district that stretches for several square kilometers, collectively known as "Badaguan."
