Introduction

Longji Rice Terraces (Dragon's Backbone) are located in Longsheng County, Guilin. Built over 650 years ago by the Zhuang and Yao ethnic minorities, the terraces cascade down the mountainsides in intricate patterns, creating one of China's most spectacular agricultural landscapes. The terraces change dramatically with the seasons: mirror-like water in spring, lush green in summer, golden in autumn, and snow-dusted in winter. The villages of Ping'an and Dazhai offer the best viewpoints.
