Introduction

Liuhe Pagoda (Six Harmonies Pagoda) is located on Yuelun Hill overlooking the Qiantang River in Hangzhou. Built in 970 AD, the 60 m tall octagonal pagoda was originally constructed to calm the tidal bore of the Qiantang River. It offers spectacular views of the river and the Qiantang River Bridge. The pagoda is a masterpiece of Song Dynasty brick-and-wood architecture and is particularly popular during the autumn tidal bore season.
