Introduction

Baisha Ancient Town is located 8 km north of Lijiang and was the original capital of the Naxi Kingdom before Lijiang. It is famous for the Baisha Murals, a collection of Buddhist, Taoist, and Dongba religious paintings created during the Ming Dynasty, blending Han Chinese, Tibetan, and Naxi artistic styles. The town is also known for its traditional Naxi embroidery and the elderly Dr. Ho, a famous local herbalist.
