Introduction

The Sacred Heart Cathedral (Shishi Church) is located in the old town of Guangzhou and is one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in China. Built between 1863 and 1888 entirely of granite, it is known locally as the 'Stone House.' The cathedral features twin spires rising 58 m, stunning stained glass windows, and a solemn interior. It is an active Catholic church and a striking architectural landmark in the heart of Guangzhou.
