Introduction

Yadan National Geopark (Devil City) is located 180 km northwest of Dunhuang in the Gobi Desert. It features spectacular yardang landforms — wind-eroded rock formations that resemble castles, pagodas, animals, and mythical creatures. The eerie whistling of the wind through the formations at night gives the area its nickname 'Devil City.' The park is particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset when the rocks glow in shades of gold and red.
