Introduction

The Summer Palace is located in Haidian District, Beijing. It is the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Centered on Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, the garden features the Long Corridor — a 728 m covered walkway decorated with thousands of paintings — the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, and the Marble Boat. It was the summer retreat for Qing Dynasty emperors, particularly Empress Dowager Cixi. A boat ride on Kunming Lake offers classic views of the garden's harmonious blend of natural landscape and exquisite architecture.
