Namtso Lake
Introduction
Namtso Lake is located on the border of Damxung County and Baingoin County in Tibet, at an elevation of 4,718 m. It is the highest saltwater lake in the world and one of Tibet's three sacred lakes. The lake's crystal-clear turquoise waters are set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains. The Tashi Dor Peninsula on the lake features prayer flags, meditation caves, and stunning panoramic views. The night sky at Namtso, free from light pollution, offers spectacular stargazing.
