Xi'an Stele Forest Museum
Introduction
Xi'an Beilin Museum (Forest of Steles) houses China's largest and most important collection of stone steles and inscriptions. Founded in 1087 during the Northern Song Dynasty, it contains over 3,000 steles spanning nearly 2,000 years of Chinese calligraphy and history. The museum is a pilgrimage site for calligraphy enthusiasts and a treasure trove of Chinese epigraphy, including the complete Confucian classics carved in stone.
