The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is located in the Da Ci'en Temple complex in Xi'an. Built in 652 AD during the Tang Dynasty, it was constructed to house Buddhist scriptures brought from India by the monk Xuanzang (the historical figure behind Journey to the West). The 64 m tall brick pagoda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the 'Silk Roads' listing. The North Square features Asia's largest musical fountain show, especially spectacular at night.
