The Bell Tower and Drum Tower are located at the center of Xi'an, marking the geographical heart of the ancient city. The Bell Tower, built in 1384, is a magnificent Ming Dynasty structure where bells were rung at dawn. The Drum Tower, built in 1380, housed drums that were beaten at sunset.
